The Root Control Discs or RCDs are designed to fit the 1Pot system, the easy2grow Kit & the 2Pot extension trays to extend the easy2grow Kit. These discs are black & gold in colour and are placed in the tray underneath the pot, gold face up.
The purpose of the Root Control Disc is to prevent roots from leaving the pot & heading towards the AQUAvalve. They are very effective due to the special metallic gold coating.
Please note that roots even though they are tender have the ability to go through concrete, therefore it is wise to occasionally lift the pot to see if any have managed to escape the barrier. If so simply cut away the roots with a pair of scissors.
This will in no way harm the plant. The discs will last several seasons. However, it is advisable to replace the discs at the beginning of each season. In this way, any disease can be prevented from spreading
No more daily watering
Easily extended in minutes
No power / timers / mains water required
Simply gravity fed from a tank / water barrel
Also, environmentally friendly
Also, reduce consumption of water and feed by an impressive 50%, whilst increasing yields.
Due to the AQUAvalve's capability, they can remain unattended for weeks.
All AutoPot watering systems require ZERO POWER, NO PUMPS, NO MAINS WATER PRESSURE AND NO TIMERS to operate.
Whatever medium you choose the system caters for gardeners and growers of all abilities guaranteeing great results. With the round based pots, the grower can easily rotate the pot while it's still inside a tray.
The pots & trays can be easily moved at will, if the plants grow too large they can be spaced further apart with ease. Also, once set up and a tank is filled with water & liquid feed this extremely versatile system will completely take care of all your plants needs.
Pot up your plants, water through, then allow your plants to establish in the pots for a period of 7 to 10 days before turning your system on. This will encourage a stronger and healthier root system.
Always raise your tank to a minimum of 150mm above the highest AQUAvalve and re-fill the tank when there is approximately a 1/3 of the solution left - NEVER ALLOW THE TANK TO RUN EMPTY.
For best results, we recommend mineral fertilisers such as Hydroponic or Coco nutrients. Do not use organic fertilisers, as they have a tendency to block small pipe work.
Clean all substrate from the bottom and sides of the pots before placing in each tray. This will ensure your system is clean from the start.
Always use free draining substrates, for example: 50/50 soil/perlite, coco/perlite, soil/clay pebbles, coco/clay pebbles, rockwool/clay pebbles.
