A propagator is like a miniature greenhouse, consisting of a tray (which can be sectioned into cells or left open, with or without holes) and a transparent lid which includes holes for venitlation. The tray supports the plants, while the lid allows light to penetrate and maintains humidity around the plants. By using a propagator, you can meticulously regulate the temperature and moisture levels, creating an ideal environment that encourages plants to start growing earlier than usual.
Place the planted-up pots and seed trays in the propagator. Switch on and put in a well-lit area away from direct sun. Wipe away excessive condensation inside lid of propagator, and open vents until it clears. Lightly water the compost with tap water at room temperature, only if it becomes dry. Do not over water as it could cause fungal infection. Remove the propagator lid as soon as the seedlings appear and pot the seedlings when they are large enough to handle.
Place propagator in a warm well-lit area away from direct sun. Keep switched on as necessary. Open ventilators gradually over 5-7 days, once cutting show signs of growth. When cutting are growing strongly, transfer to individual pots.
